How do Clinical Peels work?

Chemical Peeling is a relatively comfortable treatment, which induces a controlled wound to the skin and the top layers of the epidermis are subsequently removed.

Different chemical peels are suited to different skin types and conditions. They also vary in strength, with typical ‘Superficial Peels’ utilising Alphahydroxy (AHA) & Betahydroxy (BHA) Acids, Retinoic Acid (Vitamin A), Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and other physical exfoliants.

The purpose of removing the top layers of the epidermis, is to promote the development of collagen and new layers of skin. This new skin often appears with fewer symptoms or skin conditions and will look fresh, clean and healthy
