New Consultation Policy *Important*

Skinastute has now implemented a new policy pertaining to initial client consultations. Please read this information and contact Skinastute if you have any questions.

  • All initial Skinastute consultations and skin analysis appointments will now cost $60 for all clients.
  • This $60 is however subtracted from the cost of any products you purchase the consultation day.
  • For example; if you were to purchase $120 of product on the consultation day, you would only be required to pay an extra $60.

Skinastute may also ask for credit card details to secure your bookings. If you fail to attend your booked consultation you may be subject to a $40 'no-show' fee. If you have booked a consultation and would like to cancel or change your appointment date or time, please contact the clinic at least 48 hours before your consultation time.

Skinastute is determined to provide an environment for our clients which is fair and professional. It is for this reason that we have implemented this new policy and we welcome any feedback you might have.

Clinic Etiquette

Our clinic is a place of solitude, welcoming and comfort. We ask that our valued clients please refrain from noisy mobile phone conversations or other behaviour which might detract from the very pleasing skinastute experience.

Furthermore, skinastute loves kids! However for their safety and your own peace of mind, please ensure you have someone who is able to mind your children during your treatments.

What to Wear

Your comfort, happiness and your skin are all so important to us. Depending on the treatment, we recommend you wear loose, comfortable clothing and shoes. Some treatments are lengthy in duration and we don't mind if you want to wear your comfy old clothes into the clinic.

Sun Protection

As a responsible Medical-skincare clinic, especially one which is based by the beach, we need to emphasise the importance of sun protection.

Many of our clients might have avoided needing treatment, had they not experienced so much sun damage. pigmentation, age spots, wrinkles and other skin conditions can be directly attributed to sun damage.

More importantly, skin cancers and melanomas are a brutal form of cancer, which can in many cases be avoided through astute sun protection. The reason for tanning, is that the melanocyte produces dark melanin, to protect the DNA below. In a nutshell, you are destroying your DNA and risking cell mutation and cancer.

How can you avoid sun damage?

  • Get yourself a medical-grade sunscreen (e.g. Actinica, TGA approved SPF50+)
  • Understand your skin type and the risks you face; everyone's skin is different.
  • Strongly avoid lengthy sun exposure and don't burn.
  • Adhere to common sense sun protection; appropriate clothing, hat, sunglasses, etc
  • If you must be in the sun, try to limit exposure to 10 minutes, followed by 30 minutes in the shade.
  • Love yourself enough to know, tanning leads to wrinkled, saggy, spotted skin later in life.
